THE STORY OF COS/l/lIC /I/IOTORS

Cosmic Motors is an independent manufacturer of vehicles of all kinds, located in the center of the Galaxion Galaxy. CoMo, as it is affectionately referred to by its tans, was founded by the famous Redooa brothers in the Galaxion year 8966-B.

The Redooa brothers were the sons of a successful

mechanical perfection and beauty. Osni Redooa commenced his groundbreaking research in aviation early

excellent scientist and space-flight enthusiast. Scared of flying himself, he always kept his feet on the ground. His brother Fritz, on the other hand, was a

never really cared how engines worked—all he loved was racing and style,

Cosmic Motors is a perfect combination of both brothers’ passions. Their polished presentations and sophisticated designs set a new standard in the galaxy—up until this point, the design, production, and sale of vehicles added up to a rather trashy business. Even ASTROCON. the biggest player in the business with more than 2 million workers and over 6,000 different vehicles in production, had an eye on these two visionaries.

CoMo soon became a rising star among the big established vehicle makers in the Galaxion system, and caught the attention of the public. Besides their revolutionary developments in transportation, CoMo gained fame by turning retired war machinery of other makers into the finest sports-competition vehicles. The transformation of these retired war machines into racers reflects the now peaceful state in the galaxy, even if there are

This classic success story met a classically tragic ending when race-addicted Fritz persuaded his inexperienced and flight-wary brother, Osni, to join him in taking out the two SEXY MAGRELA race ships. Both multi-racewinning ships belong to Osni’s race-ace daughters. Roketa and Lagata. The brothers crashed into each other and neither survived the tragic collision.

Thanks to the stirring ambitions of Osni’s daughters, the is now growing faster than ever and has bought its own

variety of test areas and production facilities. Each CoMo vehicle is custom-tailored for the physical conditions specific to each planet in the Galaxion system.

Today, Cosmic Motors produces some of the finest vehicles in the Galaxion Galaxy, blending cutting-edge technology

From a design standpoint I still prefer the front end shown here to the final CAMARUDO. But it didn’t quite fit the story of a simple vessel, as this is a very complex construction. On this page, you see three steps of my sketch developmental the center, the loose doodle to set perspective and the positioning of the character; below, the clean line drawing done with templates, ready to be scanned; and on top. the

As with all of the projects in this book, the CAMARUDO was modeled with Autodesk* AliasStudiosoftware. That package gives me a professional tool to precisely control the curves and surfaces of the 3-D model. In most cases. I want to translate my two-dimensional design proposal as closely as I can, to avoid digital design accidents. I grew up learning the design workflow in the car industry, where you still define the shapes using conventional artistic media, and can only translate it digitally as a
parallel to that process. Pure digital automotive design always lacks tension and feel in the surfaces.

Back to this one here. I went pretty far with the detailing, which always pays off once I print my final renderings in giant scale. Most of the rivets are modeled to avoid complex bump mapping. And notice the cockpit, which later
