Potential for “appropriation activities”

Old abandoned land which has been fallow for a long time and upon which nature is developing without hindrance can be a place for appropriation activities. These often have an “unfinished” appearance and differ significantly (e. g. in variety, character). The photo shown in Fig. 4 was taken during the photo campaign at the Rheinelbe area. Here, a visitor documents such activities: she lets her dog run free and leaves the path to follow it; she sits down and the meadow thereby becomes “appropriated”.
